Antique Chronometers

Our collection of antique chronometers date from the 19th century to the early 20th century. We stock chronometers in a variety of styles - marine, carriage and mantel. We define a clock to be a chronometer if the movement has a detent escapement and a compensated balance.

Marine chronometers were used at sea to find longitude for navigation, housed in a mahogany, rosewood or coromandel box. They can be of one day, two day or eight day duration.

Our chronometers are sympathetically restored in our own workshops and are guaranteed for two years.

If we do not have the type of chronometer you are looking for on these pages please contact us with your requirements. We are happy to help you find what you are looking for.
