Rare and very small English rosewood mantel clock. The pretty mercury gilt dial is just 7 cm square with fine engine turning and Roman numerals, it is signed Bell, Mount Street, London and has lovely heart shaped blued steel hands.
The high quality, eight day double chain fusee movement has a platform lever escapement and strikes the hours on a gong. It is signed on the backplate Bell, London.
The rosewood case of lovely colour and patina has a stepped top with brass inset handle and ripple mouldings, brass bun feet and glazed side panels.
