In 1830 John Roger Arnold joined Edward Dent in a business partnership that was to last 10 years. The business prospered, making fine quality marine chronometers, mantel clocks and also some superb carriage clocks. This is possibly one of the earliest clocks made in the partnership before a numbering sequence was used by the firm.
