A fine Regency longcase clock of Egyptian design. The flame figured mahogany case has brass capitals to the trunk with fluted pillars. The hood has an architectural pediment. The engraved and silvered 12 inch round dial with large subsidiary seconds dial, subsidiary calendar dial and strike - silent function signed Finer & Nowland London. Blued steel hands. The eight day five pillar movement with shouldered plates, anchor escapement and strikes the hours on a bell. Original pendulum with large brass bob and graduated rating nut, original brass cased weights.

Thomas Finer is listed as a clockmaker from 1788-1800. Nowland joined in 1805 -1839. Listed as working in High Holborn London.
