A French gorge cased carriage clock by one of the best makers with original numbered winding key.
Dial
The white enamel dial has black Roman numerals and blued steel spade hands.
Case
The brass gorge case with typical Jacot profile, including the more upright five-bail handle. Thick bevelled glass to all sides and a large bevelled glass to the top.
Movement
The high quality eight-day duration movement with the original silvered platform lever escapement, strikes the hours and half- hours on a gong. The backplate is stamped with the serial number 16620 and the stamp for Henri Jacot of a parrot and the initials HJ.
Height: 6 inches (15.25 cms) inc. handle.
The serial number 16620 gives a date of manufacture of circa 1890.
