Antique Mantel Clocks

Our collection of English and French antique mantel clocks date from the late 18th century to the 19th century. We stock antique mantel clocks made in a variety of cases - ebonised, walnut, mahogany, rosewood, satinwood, tortoiseshell, marble, bronze and ormolu. The dials being either brass, silvered, enamel or painted.

Small wooden case English bracket clocks made in the 19th century are usually described as mantel clocks. In the late 18th century and throughout the 19th century cases of mantel clocks were made in materials more suitable than wood to cope with the effect of the heat from a fire. The French clockmakers in Paris created highly decorative cases using skilled craftsmen in a variety of trades - sculptors, casters, chasers and gilders.

Our antique mantel clocks are sympathetically restored in our own workshops and are guaranteed for two years.
