Fine mahogany domestic regulator. The round painted dial is signed Desbois London with Roman hour numerals and a subsidiary seconds dial. There is a strike silent selector above XII. The hands are blued steel. The superb quality, eight day movement has five pillars and strikes the hours on a gong. The frontplate is numbered 13986. The movement has a Vulliamy-type dead beat escapement and Harrison's maintaining power. The pendulum is mercury compensated and has a glass jar. Brass cased weights.

The flame figured mahogany case has a shallow arch top. The hood has canted corners and glazed side panels. There is a silvered sight ring to the front door of the dial. Canted corners to the trunk with a glazed door and flame figured veneered backboard. The base has an inset panel with single plinth and block feet.
