Mahogany two day marine chronometer. 3 1/2 inch silvered dial signed Barraud, Cornhill, London, No 2/932 with subsidiary seconds dial at XII and Barraud's state of wind sector aperture. Blued steel hands. The two day fusee movement with Earnshaw spring detent escapement, cut bimetallic balance with segmental compensation weights and blued steel helical balance spring. Barraud 'butterfly' winding assembly. Brass numbered gimbal and bowl.

Paul Philip Barraud was a fine clock and chronometer maker, he worked from Cornhill, London. Master of the Clockmakers' Company in 1810 and a partner with W. Howells and George Jamison in 1797 - 1799 for making Thomas Mudge's Timekeepers.
