Fine walnut longcase clock having a flat top hood and frieze with an arcaded design, turned walnut columns with wooden capitals, crossgrain veneer with a panel of lighter figured walnut surrounded by boxwood stringing to the sides of the hood, trunk and base. The long trunk door with crossgrain mouldings has a panel of quartered figured walnut with boxwood stringing, the base has a bookmatched panel and sits on a single plinth.

The 11 inch square brass dial with superb floral engraved centre, calendar aperture and applied steel ringed winding holes, silvered chapter ring signed Miles Lowly Abberford. Blued steel hands and Indian mask spandrels. The high quality eight day movement striking the hours on a bell with unusual horizontal layout, original sliding dust covers and delicate steel work.
