Small, pretty English Regency brass and ebony inlaid mahogany bracket clock. The round silvered dial with strike/silent lever signed Rigby Charing Cross, Roman numerals and blued steel spade hands.

The high quality five pillar double fusee movement with arched plates has an anchor escapement and strikes the hours and half hours on a bell. The backplate is signed Rigby Charing Cross London and has an engraved border. The engraved pendulum bob has a calibrated regulation nut with blued steel pointer set into the oval brass rod, engraved slow/fast.

The breakarch case with cast brass bezel has ebony line inlay to the sides with brass rosette inlaid corners and brass inlay to the front above the simple moulded base on brass feet. Contemporary mahogany wall bracket.

James Rigby was in Clerkenwell and moved to Charing Cross when he succeeded the business of John Leroux in 1808.
