A fine brass mounted rosewood table clock. Circa 1826

Case

Elegant arch top rosewood case with brass moulded edge, brass framed panel beneath the cast brass bezel and brass inlay to the plinth standing on adjustable brass bun feet. Fish scale side frets and glazed back door.

Dial

The round silvered dial having Roman hour numerals signed Vulliamy London. Strike silent function lever at III and pendulum regulation at XII. Fine blued steel hands.

Movement

The substantial movement with thick plates and five large baluster pillars. Half dead beat escapement with original steel rod pendulum having a heavy brass faced bob is suspended from the pivoted regulation platform mounted on top of the plates. The plain backplate is signed Vulliamy London No. 874 with pendulum holdfast below. Striking the hours on a bell.
