An English five glass rosewood case mantel clock with original travelling case. Circa 1840
Dial
The square gilt dial floral engraved dial with Roman hour numerals and minute markers signed Jas Whitelaw Edinburgh below VI. Blued steel hands.
Case
The fine rosewood case with glazed sides and top with pierced wood fret to the rear door. The front opening door with inset gilt and engraved mask above an ogee moulding and adjustable brass bun feet.
Movement
The eight day double chain fusee movement with anchor escapement and heavy brass bob pendulum. Striking the hours on a gong with a push button to the right side of the case.
Original mahogany baize lined travelling case with slide up inspection pane and brass carrying handle.
